Sample Interview Questions

After reading my introduction and my list of recommended books, you might think I’d be just right for a job in your organization. If so, why not take a look at my answers to some sample interview questions?

What is your greatest strength?

I am a quick learner and an excellent teacher. Once I’ve learned something myself, I have a gift for finding ways to explain it to others so they can understand, too. This means that in a work setting, I can quickly learn new procedures and programs and then help other people learn them as well. I can be a resource for my co-workers, and I’m always happy to share my knowledge.

What is your greatest weakness?

I don’t always have a lot of patience for jargon or for people who talk without saying anything. I like to get to the point, and I want other people to do the same. I appreciate meetings that are focused instead of wandering from topic to topic, and once we’ve reached a consensus for the next steps, I don’t see any need to keep talking.

What did you do during the twenty-eight year gap in your resumé?

I raised and educated five human beings. They were homeschooled, so I sought out the best curriculum for each subject and helped each child learn at his or her own pace. I found the methods that worked best for each one to learn and grow. I developed skills like patience, humility, and perseverance. I learned the importance of evaluating progress and being willing to change if the current approach isn’t working. Thanks to this experience, I’m not afraid to make changes as needed. I know better than to be too attached to a single way of approaching a problem.
